BRENTWOOD, TN / February 25, 2025 – Thread Bank (“Thread”) recently appointed Bob Diegel as Chief Operations Officer. Diegel will play a pivotal role in driving the Bank’s next phase of strategic growth through continuing to optimize its operational efficiency and overall business processes.

With more than 20 years of experience driving industry change, providing strategic leadership to high-performing teams, and managing partnerships and extensive customer networks, Diegel brings a proven track record of success to Thread. As Chief Operations Officer, Diegel will help to identify growth opportunities and work to achieve both immediate and long-term business goals.

“We are thrilled to welcome Bob to our leadership team as Chief Operations Officer,” said Chris Black, CEO and President of Thread. “With a proven track record of driving operational excellence, he brings deep expertise and strategic insight that will be critical as we navigate our next phase of growth. His leadership will enhance our ability to streamline processes, innovate, and strengthen the overall customer experience. This appointment underscores our commitment to building a strong foundation for sustainable success and delivering exceptional value to our customers, employees, partners and shareholders.”

Diegel brings a wealth of experience in banking and financial services to Thread, having held senior leadership roles such as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President at BM Technologies, Inc., Chief Operating Officer at Stealth FinTech Startup, and Deputy Chief Administrative Officer, SVP at Customers Bank.

“I’m thrilled to join an executive team and work alongside them and the Board, who together have crafted an innovative strategy and clear vision for Thread, positioning the company as a leader in the evolving financial services landscape and the future of Embedded Banking,” Diegel said. “I look forward to leveraging my experience to drive growth, deliver value to our customers, and contribute to the Bank’s continued success in this dynamic industry.”

Diegel’s appointment comes on the heels of Mike Farrell joining as Chief Financial Officer and Clif Howard being named the newly established Chief Accounting Officer. These strategic moves position Thread Bank to build on its success, advancing its operational strategy while expanding its embedded, business, and personal banking capabilities to meet the evolving needs of the marketplace.
